While this is a bit misleading, this is definitely Muddy Waters’s band, with Muddy playing more of a background role than normal. In more of a leadership role are both guitarist Luther Johnson, and harmonica ace George “Mojo” Bruford, who take the vocals on the 8 vocal tracks (there are also 2 instrumentals). Muddy provides his usual stinging guitar style, while the rest of his band; Otis Spann, Sammy Langhorne, and Francis Clay, offer driving support throughout. The sessions took place in 1967, but were not issued until Muse Records put them out in 1973. This is a new re-issue of some great loose Chicago blues!
