Incense And Peppermints marked one of psychedelia?s rare moments at the top of the charts. The title track skyrocketed to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1967 with the album reaching #11 on the Billboard 200. Along with ?Incense And Peppermints,? two other tracks from the album (?The World?s On Fire? and ?Rainy Day Mushroom Pillow?) were featured in the 1968 counterculture-era movie, Psych-Out, starring Jack Nicholson. ?Incense And Peppermints,? would also later appear in the 1997 comedy, Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery.
